Welcome to Beyond the Front Porch Inc. We are a Georgia Non-Profit Organization with its 501(c)3 IRS tax exemption status. This organization has a dual mission. First we seek to bring back the experience of educational field trips to our school aged children. Secondly, we will expose economically disadvantaged teens to non traditional activities beyond their current surroundings. Beyond the Front Porch serves the children of Douglas County and surrounding areas.
We provide two types of experiences for our participants: both mental and physical. Our mental experiences stimulate their problem-solving and information-gathering skills, as well as provide context for classroom learning through real world applications. Our physical experiences promote teamwork, critical thinking and leadership skills.

My daughter is in the 7th grade and I remember the last field trip she was on was a walking field trip to a nearby Cotton Mill when she was in Elementary School.
There are many ways to support the hard work of our teachers and school administrators to teach our children, field trips and outside experiences are just two very important ways.
In the recent years budgets have been slashed in our schools leaving it up to the communities and parents to make up the difference. But what do you do when the parents are experiencing their own personal budget cuts due to unemployment, under-employment or just plain not having enough resources to let their child experience this…luxury.
Please help us provide the means to give our children this opportunity. Go to the “how to help” tab to see how you can serve in any capacity. Hope to see you on a trip soon!
