This was our fourth year visiting Zoo Atlanta and our third year with the Douglas County DA’s Office. It was an absolutely beautiful day for us to explore all that the Zoo had to show our students and parents. Our group was large enough for us to divide into three groups and go in three separate directions with some very knowledgeable group tour guides. Our tour was ninety minutes long and full of the sights and sounds of gorillas, lions, elephants and monkeys. Once our tour guides exhausted our groups to hunger and more knowledge that their heads could handle, we enjoyed our lunch sponsored by Publix on Chapel Hill Road. After lunch, our group was able to take an hour and half of free time to go back and visit places that they wanted to stay longer, visit the playground or other zoo attractions or visit other areas of the Zoo like the Scaly Slimy Spectacular Exhibit that was not included in the guided tour. In the end, we had a great day on this fantastic annual August field trip and we look forward to visiting the Museum of Aviation next month.
